How to Opt Out from My Child Care Plan Listings

Learn how to remove your child care provider information from being displayed on My Child Care Plan.

Understanding Your Listing

My Child Care Plan utilizes data from California's network of child care resource and referral (R&R) agencies. These agencies maintain detailed provider information from state licensing records and enhance it with additional details such as hours of operation, ages served, rates, services offered (like transportation and food), and current vacancy information. They also maintain information about license-exempt programs like school-age centers and exempt preschool programs.

Before You Start

  • You should be a licensed child care provider in California

  • Have your provider license number ready if available

  • Know which county you operate in

Ways to Opt Out

Option 1: Contact Your Local Resource & Referral Agency

  1. Find your local agency using our directory

  2. Contact them directly to request removal from the site

  3. Provide your provider information when requested

Option 2: Update Your Provider Profile

If you've already claimed your profile:

  1. Log in to your account

  2. Click Advanced provider update

  3. Select Vacancy, Referral and Licensing Information

  4. Scroll to "Referral Status"

  5. Choose either:

    • No Web Referrals - removes you from website listings

    • No Referrals - removes you from all referrals

  6. Click Save and Submit

Note: Changes may take up to 1-2 business days to be reflected on the site.

Option 3: Contact Us Directly

Common Issues

Problem: Profile still showing after opting out

Solution: Please allow 1-2 business days for changes to take effect. If your profile is still visible after 2 business days, contact your local R&R agency or reach out to our support team.

Problem: Cannot log in to provider profile

Solution: If you haven't claimed your profile yet, please see our article on How to Claim Your Provider Profile. If you have claimed your profile but cannot log in, use the password reset option or contact our support team.
