How to Update Your Provider Profile

Once you have claimed your Provider profile, you can update your own profile at anytime.

If you haven't claimed and verified your Provider account, you will not be able to update on your own. Here is how you can claim your own profile.

Simplified Profile Update (New!)

Use the Update your profile option to modify the key information that families see most often on MyChildCarePlan.org.

What You Can Update

  • Vacancies and availability

  • Contact information (phone, email, website)

  • Program description ("About My Program")

    • Important: Use only plain text without any formatting

    • Do not include HTML tags, special characters, or formatted text

  • Photos of your environment and staff

  • Languages spoken in your program

  • Schedule of care (full-time, part-time, etc.)

  • Program highlights and philosophy

  • Hours and days of operation

  • Meals provided

  • Subsidies accepted

  • Special needs care experience

  • Quality improvement participation

  • Accreditation information

Steps to Update Your Profile

  1. Click on "My Profile"

  2. Select "Update your profile"

  3. Make your desired changes

  4. Click "Submit Changes" at the bottom of the form

Processing Time

  • Your updates will be reviewed by your local Resource & Referral (R&R) agency

  • Please allow 2 business days for approval

  • You can check the status of your updates:

    • "Last Update Submitted" means your changes are pending review

    • "Last Update Approved" means your changes are live

Advanced Profile Update

For more detailed modifications, use the Advanced provider update option. This gives you access to additional fields such as:

  • Rates and fees

  • Qualifications

    • Experience and education details

    • Education and training history

  • Transportation details

    • Proximity to public transportation

    • Bus routes

    • Schools served

  • Detailed payment policies

  • And more specialized information

To access Advanced Update:

  1. Go to "My Profile"

  2. Scroll down and Select "Advanced provider update"

  3. Choose the specific form you want to update

Non-Editable Information

Some fields in your profile will appear greyed out and cannot be updated directly through MyChildCarePlan.org. This includes:

  • Child care license number

  • Licensed capacity

  • License effective date

  • Facility type

  • Age groups served (as specified by license)

  • Licensed provider name

  • Facility address

Why These Fields Are Protected

These fields are maintained by your local Resource & Referral (R&R) agency because they:

  • Contain officially verified licensing information

  • Require documentation to modify

  • Must match state licensing records

  • Are critical for maintaining accuracy in the child care search system

  • Help ensure family safety and program compliance

To update any of these protected fields, please contact your local R&R directly. They will:

  1. Verify the requested changes against official documentation

  2. Update the information in the system

  3. Ensure all records remain accurate and current

Important Notes

  • Keep your vacancy information current (update at least every 60 days)

  • Photos should follow the platform's guidelines for safety and privacy

  • Make sure to save your changes before leaving each form

  • Your R&R may request documentation for certain updates
